Welcome to Prince of Wales Public School Thorold
Prince of Wales Public School is proud to be a longstanding part of the Thorold community, offering a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for over 100 years. Located in the heart of downtown Thorold, our historic school building has educated generations of local families and continues to be a place where students feel a strong sense of belonging.
As part of the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN), Prince of Wales is guided by the 2023–2028 Strategic Plan: "Redefining Excellence." This plan supports our commitment to student success through four key priorities:
- Learning & Growth – Helping every student reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Belonging, Equity & Inclusion – Creating a safe, respectful school where every student feels valued and included.
- Thriving Well-Being – Supporting mental health and well-being for students and staff alike.
- Honouring First Nations, Inuit, and Métis voices (“Walking Together”) and ensuring our Learning Environments (Spaces) are welcoming, safe, accessible, and supportive of all ways of learning.
In 2024, we celebrated our 100th anniversary, highlighting our rich history and strong community connections. Alumni, staff, and families gathered to reflect on the school’s legacy and its ongoing role in shaping future leaders.
At Prince of Wales, we live the DSBN vision: “Learning and Growing Together.” We are proud of our past and excited about the future as we continue to support every child’s journey.
