Welcome to Prince of Wales Public School !

Home of the Knights

Prince of Wales Public School has a population of approximately 285 students who are proud Knights! We are an elementary public school, nestled in the City of Thorold within the District School Board of Niagara. Our school was built in 1923 which replaced the West Side School that began as an eight room school. Both inside and out, the building has unique features like the prominent arches, the majestic front door, high ceilings and interesting nooks and crannies. Our parents and grandparents are connected to our community school and they are pleased to have the next generation attend their home school. Our newest addition in 2018 was our lighted outdoor sign that keeps our community updated on our monthly activities.

We are pleased to provide an outstanding education for our students. Innovative programs that meet the individual needs of all our students are taught by our dedicated and professional staff who care about your child. Extra-curricular opportunities include various sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball and track and field. Choir, chess, math and reading clubs are offered each year. We continue to build our knowledge and use of technology. Our Learning Commons was renovated in 2016 and it holds our library and our computer lab. Additionally, we have 60 chrome books accessed by our students daily!

Creating an environment where we are working together on Literacy and Numeracy achievement is key. We strive to achieve success for every student. We appreciate and value the community partnerships and parent involvement which are so crucial to the successful education for our students.

Be Safe ~ Be Respectful~ Be Responsible is a focus in our school.

If you have any questions, just ask! We are here to help!
